Love this kid. Daniel "Diggy" Simmons released a mixtape, The First Flight, a few months ago, but this is what I'm talking about. His flow is reminding me of his dad, Run of Run DMC, from years ago.

Warning: Watch out for some "N" bombs in the video.

I bet you could name a few rappers twice his age (13) that can't flow like that...Nas' "Made You Look" track doesn't hurt though.

...when in Rome, make simple, delicious pasta. I just made that up, but Roman dishes are known for being easy breezy and this one, Cacio e Pepe (Spaghetti with cheese and pepper) is no exception. Once you read this recipe you'll probably say: That's it? That can't be right! Simple is good, especially when it comes in the form of aromatic cheese and bite of pepper (I'm leaving the pepper out for Sascha's serving), and I'm going to finish it off with some lemon zest, or you can try red pepper flakes.

Honestly, there's really no need for measurements because you are going to cook the pasta how you like it, and add as much butter, cheese and pepper as you prefer. Just take it as a guide and enjoy.

This dish is so good, it's what we're having for dinner tonight...check out the pictures!

Cacio e Pepe

1 pound of dried spaghetti (note: 1 pound will serve 4 as a main dish)

1/4 cup olive oil

3 Tablespoons of butter

4 ounces of finely grated Pecorino Romano cheese

1 teaspoon of finely ground black pepper (you can use coarsely ground pepper if you prefer)

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook to your liking. Drain the pasta and reserve 1 1/2 cups of the pasta water.

2. Dry out the pot and add the olive oil on high heat. Be careful when you add the pasta and pasta water back to the pot, things will be smoky and the combo tends to splatter. Seriously.

3. Add the butter, cheese and ground pepper and toss for a few minutes. Add more cheese, pepper and a sprinkle of salt, if needed. Serve immediately.

I'm serving this tonight with salmon and chicken, of course, for Sascha.

I saw it in the theater when it was originally released in 1982 (wow), and since she likes music and dancing, I thought maybe she'd like it.

Wrong.

She loves it.

I tried to be tricky and divert her attention from the movie to give her a little music lesson by playing Jay-Z's "Hard Knock Life" video which, of course, samples the movie's big number, "It's The Hard Knock Life."

Sascha wasn't feeling it, she was like ok, it's fine, why is it so slow? She'd rather see the original with the little girls. Fine. Maybe you'll enjoy Jigga's hit...

You gotta relax and let the mess, mistakes and imperfect results happen. You are after all, baking for fun, right? It'll taste good no matter how it looks...at least that's what they say.

So, in honor of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards going down tonight, we baked Oscar cookies. Sugar cookies made with an Oscar-shaped cutter, lemony icing and gold dust. Everyone has an Oscar-shaped cookie cutter right? Probably not. My mom had this made a few years ago when our company, Sukari Desserts & Pastries, catered an Oscar party.

After rolling out the simple sugar cookie dough (check a Martha Stewart recipe here), you just cut them out and bake. The icing is a mixture of vanilla, powdered sugar and lemon juice (fresh is best).

Sascha painted the cookies with the icing after they cooled, added purple food coloring and then sprinkled them with some gold dust which you can buy at any fine baking goods supplier, like our favorite N.Y.
Jamie Oliver (renowned chef, best-selling author, Food Network "Naked Chef" star) is an England native, but bringing his "Food Revolution" to Huntingtown, Virginia--known as the unhealthiest city in America. His new ABC show--and mission--is to start a new cooking initiative and in this six-part series, hopes to start a chain reaction of healthy eating around the country.

Here, he checks in with a class of 1st graders and asks them to identify a few veggies. These kids, like many around the country, have no idea of what they are seeing. I have to admit, Sascha doesn't know what a beet looks like, but she knows corn, broccoli, tomatoes, potatoes...she knows what she eats basically.

Do your kids know all the vegetables or just the ones--if they even do--eat?
